TidewellDental Practice · Worthing Book online

A family practice in Worthing since 1984

You’ll see the same dentist every time.

Four dentists, one hygienist and a front desk that knows your name. Most of our patients have been coming for more than ten years, and a good number of them first came as children.

A note from Anneliese

Dentistry goes better when somebody knows you.

I took over Tidewell from the dentist who founded it, and I inherited his patients along with the building. Some of them had been coming since the week it opened. That taught me most of what I know about running a practice: people do not come back for the equipment.

So we are organised around continuity. You choose a dentist and you keep them. Your notes say how you like things done, whether you want everything explained or would rather not know, and which side you prefer to be numbed first.

We will always tell you what something costs before we start, and we will always tell you when the honest answer is to leave it alone.

If you’re nervous

About one in three of our new patients haven’t been in years.

You are not unusual and you will not be told off. Dr Eastwood keeps longer appointments for exactly this, and the first one can be a conversation in an ordinary room, nowhere near the chair.

  • Meet first, with nothing done
  • A stop signal that is always obeyed
  • Longer, quieter appointments
  • Numbing gel before any injection
  • Bring someone in with you
  • Sedation by referral, if it helps

In our patients’ words

“I had not been to a dentist in eleven years. Dr Eastwood spent the whole first appointment just talking. I have been four times since, and I no longer lie awake the night before.”

Shona B. · patient since 2025

“Anneliese has looked after my teeth, my husband’s, and now both our children’s. She remembers all of us.”

Carys M. · patient since 2010

“Both children are seen on the NHS here and nobody has ever made us feel like second-class patients for it.”
